Best Albums of the Year 2014

There were some good albums this year, but this list is for albums that I have had on constant repeat and love every track on it. This is not an easy thing to accomplish, as most albums have a few songs that are really good and most are take or leave. The following albums are not ranked or in any order other than the time I thought about them to add to this list.

You+Me РRose Ave.

Little Big Town РPain Killer

Nickel Creek – A Dotted Line

Taylor Swift – 1989

Miranda Lambert- Platinum

Tove Lo – Queen of the Clouds

Eric Church – The Outsiders

WALK THE MOON – Talking is Hard

Death from Above 1979 – The Physical World

Divergent Soundtrack

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

Meg Myers – Make a Shadow

Song of the Day “Wounded” Little Big Town

Lyrics:

You plowed over me like a tractor
You used me up and put me out to pasture
I’m left to eat your dust
Guess you’re thinkin’ that we must be done
You said you got my back every minute
Well you do
You’ve got it there to put your dagger in it
And knowing what i need
Still you stood and watched me bleed

[Chorus:]
Wounded, I’m wounded
I’m battered and broken and bruised

Wounded, I’m wounded
All tore up inside over you
Wonderin’ why you do me like you do

I feel betrayed and so manipulated
I call a spade a spade, you call me jaded
Well, what do you expect
You give me no respect

[Chorus]

And this monkey on my back
Has stopped me in my tracks

[Chorus]

Song of the Day “Good As Gone” Little Big Town

“Good As Gone”

Lyrics:

There’s a cold feelin’
Runnin’ up and down my spine
It seems to say we’re just wasting time
It’s like a bad movie
One I wish I’d never seen
The plot gets old
Do you know what I mean?

Don’t try to tell me it ain’t what it is

I’m good
(I’m good at seein’ the signs)
I’m good
(I’m good at readin’ between the lines)
It’s no use
(No use in hangin’ on)
Cause you’re good to go
(Yeah)
And, baby, I’m good as gone

On a lost highway
I don’t know how I got to where I am
Take the next Splitsville exit ramp
It’s like a cheap vacation
When we thought we planned very well
Now we’ve checked out of
The lovely love hotel

Don’t try to tell me it ain’t what it is

I’m good
(I’m good at seein’ the signs)
I’m good
(I’m good at readin’ between the lines)
No use in hangin’ on
Cause you’re good to go
And, baby, I’m good as gone

Don’t try to tell me it ain’t what it is

I’m good
(I’m good at seein’ the signs)
I’m good
(I’m good at readin’ between the lines)
No use in hangin’ on
Cause you’re good to go
And, baby, I’m good as gone

Baby, I’m gone

Song of the Day “Welcome to the Family” Little Big Town

“Welcome to the Family”

Lyrics:

Welcome to the family
Hope you have a real good life
With my little sister
Yeah, she’ll make a real good wife

Hope you have lots of babies
Hope you get a real good job
Hope you don’t mind comp’ny
Cause we’ll be here a lot

Brother, here’s some brotherly advice:
If you know what’s good for you,
You’ll treat her right, cause…

Grandpa’s the local sheriff, yeah
He’s the judge and the jury, too
Uncle Bill’s the undertaker
Son, he’ll dig a hole for you
Cousin Jesse, he’s just crazy
He’ll fight you just for fun
Momma’s got a real bad temper
Daddy’s got a shotgun

Welcome to the family
From this side of the tracks
If you ever leave her
You ain’t comin’ back

My nephew is a hunter
He’s gonna hunt you down
Just like he did the last one
And he still ain’t been found

I like you just fine,
Don’t get me wrong
You’ll take care of her
Cause if you don’t…

Grandpa’s the local sheriff, yeah
He’s the judge and the jury, too
Uncle Bill’s the undertaker
Son, he’ll dig a hole for you
Cousin Jesse, he’s just crazy
He’ll fight you just for fun
Momma’s got a real bad temper
Daddy’s got a shotgun

Grandpa’s the local sheriff, yeah
He’s the judge and the jury, too
Uncle Bill’s the undertaker
Son, he’ll dig a hole for you
Cousin Jesse, he’s just crazy
He’ll fight you just for fun
Momma’s got a real bad temper
Daddy’s got a shotgun

Welcome to the family
Hope you have a real good life
With my little sister
Yeah, she’ll make a real good wife
Haha…

Welcome to the family
Momma’s got a real bad temper
Daddy’s got a shot gun

Welcome to the family
Momma’s got a real bad temper
Daddy’s got a shot gun

Welcome to the family
Momma’s got a real bad temper
Daddy’s got a shot gun

Welcome to the family
Momma’s got a real bad temper
Daddy’s got a shot gun

Song of the Day “Little White Church” Little Big Town

I love this song. Every time I hear it I fall a little bit more in love with it. So turn it up and enjoy.

“Little White Church”

Lyrics:

You’ve been singing, that same old song
Far too long,far too long
Say you’ll buy me a shiny ring
But your words don’t mean a thing
No more calling me baby
No more loving like crazy

[Chorus]
Til’ you take me down (take me down)
You better take me down (take me down)
Take me down to the little white church
Take me down (take me down)
Take me down (take me down)
Take me down to the little white church
Take me down….

You can’t ride this gravy train,
anymore,anyway
There’s a price for keeping me
I might be cheap, but I ain’t free
Now more calling me baby
No more loving like crazy

[Repeat Chorus 1x]
Come on!

Charming devil,silver tongue
Had your fun,now you’re done
Mama warned me ’bout your games
She don’t like you anyways

No more calling me baby
No more loving like crazy
No more chicken and gravy
I ain’t gonna have your baby!

[Repeat Chorus 1x]

Take me down to the little white church, take me down,
Take me down, take me down to the little white church,
take me down, take me down, take me down, take me down to the little white church,
take me down to the little white church, take me down to the little white church
