Tiel Desai never imagined herself getting married again, and before she can blink, she’s swept up into the Walsh wedding whirlwind. If that chaos isn’t enough, she’s also busy winning over her future in-laws, grappling with a bumpy adjustment to her new job, and staying afloat when a string of disappointments hit.

I fell in love with Sam and Tiel all over again in this book. This book felt organic like you were checking in with old friends instead of reading a sequel just for a sequel’s sake. Restored had it all, ups and downs, serious steamy moments, laugh out loud antics, incredible banter and a whole lot of love. It will make you break out the tissues one moment and laugh out loud the next and was the perfect combination of each. This is what Kate Canterbary does best and what makes her one of my top auto buy authors.

My Thoughts

At the end of Necessary Restorations we got a happy for now, but it felt like these two still had something else to say. I am thrilled that Restored picked up right where Necessary Restorations left off and we get to hear the rest of their story. Being privy to the evolution of this relationship felt like you were spying on the couple next door at times. It was so real and so beautifully written that these characters feel like they could be real. That is what makes this book so special and what makes this one of my top reads of 2016.

Notable Quotes

Sam was rough and wild, and sweet all in the ways that I needed…
He held me with all the love and adoration he could gather into a single embrace, and he fucked me like he was conquering a village.

I needed to lick him, bit him, kiss him, hold him, claim him. I needed to fill my hands with every little thing I could offer, and beg him to take me as I came and promise to give him anything, everything.

“It’s like there’s a part of me that was wrecked for a long, long time, and you restored it. You restored me. And I want you to know how much I needed that.”
“It goes both ways, my love.”

“We’re going to make it work. We’re going to figure it out … Tell me, Tiel. Tell me we’re gonna last because I can’t have you right now if this isn’t real.”
“It’s real,” I said. “We’re real.”

30170387Synopsis

Kyle Blake likes plans. So far, they’re pretty simple: Finish her senior year of high school, head off to a good college, find a cute boyfriend, graduate, get a good job, get married, the whole heterosexual shebang. Nothing is going to stand in the way of that plan. Not even Stella Lewis.

Stella Lewis also has a plan: Finish her senior year as cheer captain, go to college, finally let herself flirt with (and maybe even date) a girl for the first time and go from there.

Fate has other plans for Kyle and Stella when they’re paired up in their AP English class and something between them ignites. It’s confusing and overwhelming and neither of them know what to do about it. One thing they do know is that their connection can’t be ignored. The timing just isn’t right.

But is there ever a good time for falling in love?

My Thoughts

I loved this book. It was adorable, sweet, and a great read. It was nice to have a sweet coming of age story with very little angst and a happy ending. This book was hard to put down. It was a beautiful story of first love, figuring out relationships in High School and finding yourself.

“What I DO know is that I can’t go back in time and put a book in my hands, but I CAN put it in someone else’s.” Thank you for writing for this book, Chelsea M. Cameron for all the people that need these words and all those that support and love them unconditionally.

Listen To Me by Kristen Proby – 5 star Review

Listen To Me

Listen-to-Me-coverSynopsis

In New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby’s brand new series, five best friends open a hot new restaurant, but one of them gets much more than she bargained for when a sexy former rock star walks through the doors—and into her heart.

Seduction is quickly becoming the hottest new restaurant in Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim 1/5 of the credit. She’s determined to make it a success and can’t think of a better way to bring in new customers than live music. But when former rock star Jake Keller swaggers through the doors to apply for the weekend gig, she knows she’s in trouble. Addie instantly recognizes him—his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school—he’s all bad boy…exactly her type and exactly what she doesn’t need.

Jake Keller walked away from the limelight five years ago and yearns to return to what’s always driven him: the music. If he gets to work for a smart-mouthed, funny-as-hell bombshell, all the better. But talking Addie into giving him the job is far easier than persuading her that he wants more than a romp in her bed. Just when she begins to drop her walls, Jake’s past finally catches up with him.

Will Addie be torn apart once again or will Jake be able to convince her to drown out her doubts and listen to her heart?

Review

This is my favorite Kristen Proby book yet. This book had all the things I love about her writing and even more. And I’m pretty sure Jake Keller has just replaced Leo Nash as my favorite rocker. This doesn’t come out until April, but I’m sure I will re-read a few times before then. EDIT: I have now read this 3 times and I still can’t put into words how much I loved this book.

My Thoughts

Jake Keller is by far my favorite Kristen Proby character, but Addison comes in a close second. One of my favorite parts of a Kristen Proby story is the close knit groups and their relationships with each other. I am looking forward to seeing a lot more from the Seduction family and the amazing strong women she has created.

I have now read this book 3 times since it was released and I am still at a loss for words. I loved every aspect of this book so much I can’t decide where to start and how to convey my overwhelming love for this book. I’ll leave it to I wholeheartedly recommend you pick up this book. It has all the swoons, all the banter and all the steam you would expect from a Kristen Proby novel and then some.

Notable Quotes

“You have no idea how fast my heart races when I look at you,” I whisper, my lips mere inches from hers. “You turn me inside out, Addison.”

I love music too. But the quiet is where the truth lives.

“Having feelings fucking sucks,” Kat mutters with a shake of the head. “Especially when it comes to men, because when we care, we give them the power to stomp our hearts into dust.”

“I fell so hard for him! Most of the time I don’t give any fucks. Not one. But this time I gave a lot of fucks,” I say to Cami, who nods with wide eyes. “I gave lots of fucks, Cam. I’m a prostitute of feelings.”

“You showed me what I need in a woman, Addison. I need someone who calls me out on my bullshit. I need someone who sees the fire in my eyes and wants to play with it, not try to extinguish it. I need someone who challenges me; in the bedroom, in my career, in my crazy head. And you know what? I found all of that in you.”

“Addie, I can’t promise you that there won’t be times I fuck up or that things won’t ever feel broken.” His voice is a shaky whisper, his mouth planted against my temple. “But I can promise you that I will never walk away from us.”
Us.
Not me. Us.
I hug him tighter as tears form at the corners of my eyes. “That’s the best promise you can make.”

Dirty Together by Meghan March – REVIEW

Dirty Together

Synopsis

My wife.

I love saying those words.

She’s mine, and if she thinks I’m going to let her run without tracking her down and bringing her back to where she belongs—with me—then she’s about to be introduced to a new reality.

Because I’ll fight dirty to give her the happily ever after she deserves.

Dirty Together is the final book in The Dirty Billionaire Trilogy and should be read following Dirty Billionaire and Dirty Pleasures.

Review

5 Stars

This is the perfect ending to a fantastic series.

My Thoughts

In the first book we saw Holly trying to fit into Creighton’s world in New York and the second book had Creighton trying to fit into Holly’s world on a tour, and in this book we get to see how these two distinctly different people can make it work together.

This books picks up with Holly running away again. This time she returns to her childhood home to regroup and figure out her head. This time he chases her and stays to prove that he is in this for the long haul. There is a ton of steam, serious furniture breaking sexytimes and a high swoon factor while they are in their little cocoon of happiness at Holly’s gram’s house. But how will they react to the storm on the horizon?

Their reactions to all the crap thrown their way was one of my absolute favorite parts of the book. They are getting it from all sides and everyone and everything is threatening to tear them apart. They show how much they have grown as individuals and as a couple to face all the people trying to tear them apart. There are some awesome surprises and some top-notch swooney moments and that is what makes this book my favorite of the series. Highly recommended.

Notable Quotes

When did things change? When did this go from being a whim to being…everything?”
Crey lifts his hand and brushes a flyaway strand of hair out of my face. “I know I should have an answer for this that’s especially romantic, but I don’t think I can pin point the exact moment.

Because I’ll fight dirty to give her the happily ever after she deserves.

How do you want to convince me? Because right now, I’d like you to convince me against the kitchen table

She’s turned my entire fucking world upside down, and it’s the best goddamn thing that has ever happened to me

What I don’t know is how the hell I’m going to get through to her that she isn’t just some kind of ornament in my life. She is my life.

Synopsis

Sometimes you have to tear everything down to build something new…

Sayer Cole is frozen inside. At least, that’s what it’s felt like for as long as she can remember. She’s yet to let anyone past her icy exterior – and the one guy she thinks might melt her heart couldn’t possibly be interested in someone so uptight.

Rough, hard and hot-as-hell, Zeb Fuller has rebuilt his life and his construction business since protecting his family sent him to jail all those years ago. His elegant client, Sayer, makes him feel like a Neanderthal in denim, but despite the many hints that he’s been dropping to get to know her better, she seems oblivious to his charms.

Just as things finally start to heat up, Zeb’s past comes back to haunt him and he needs Sayer’s professional help to right a wrong and to save more than himself. As these opposites dig in for the fight of their lives, fire and ice collide in an unstoppable explosion of steam…

I don’t think anyone can top Captain No Fun as my favorite book boyfriend, but Mr. Fix-It came pretty damn close. This was an amazing story all around and is now one of my all time favorites. I cannot wait for the rest of this series.

My Thoughts

I am not going to lie… I was dying to get my hands on a copy of this book. I am a huge Jay Crownover fan girl and have read everything she has written. So when I got the chance to meet her in Chicago I was all over it, and even more exciting I scored a copy of this book early. I am so happy I did. This book was phenomenal. I highly recommend Jay’s other books, but this one is different because it has so much more heart, so much more swooning and just so much more. I wholeheartedly give this book all of the stars and want everyone to read it.

On to the book it’s self. When we first met Zeb and Sayer in Rowdy’s book I was intrigued by them both. I mean Zeb was a hot bearded construction worker with a heart of gold and some mistakes in his past, but you could instantly tell we were gonna see more of him when he was ready to fall. And Sayer was this quiet, reserved, fierce little thing that was fighting for a real relationship with a brother she didn’t even know existed not to long ago.

It is apparent from that first meeting in Rowdy’s book that they are circling each other, but getting to see that interaction from their points of view made me swoon a little. Zeb is an ex con and Sayer doesn’t treat him like that is all he is, which is a new and welcome experience for him. She sees him, the real him and not just the convict.

Sayer hires him to work on her house and they do a flirtation dance the entire time he is working, but it never goes any further. Sayer begins to miss him and his presence in her house and tracks him down to help her do some more work on her house. Their back and forth dance continues and is so sweet and full of sexual tension it is magnificent to be privy to.

Zeb gets some news and needs Sayer’s help in the courtroom. They start spending more time together for the case and the sparks fly. He is not going to let her brush him and his advances any longer and she soon succumbs to his charms. These two are super hot together and Jay writes some of the best steamy scenes, but Sayer has a hard time with them becoming something more. It is completely heartbreaking when Zeb has to leave her to let her work out her issues on her own and find her way back to him. This book had me in tears for them, and I never cry over books. The writing is just that powerful and beautiful.

Zeb is completely swoonworthy throughout the entire book. Whether he is talking dirty, being sweet, or somewhere in between he is one of my top book boyfriends. And Sayer is so complicated and beautiful both inside and out, that most of the time I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hug her or shake her to get her out of her own head. Together they make one of my favorite book couples ever.

Once I started reading this book I could not put it down until I was finished.I’m calling it now, this book will be in my top of 2016 list without a doubt. I can’t wait to see what Jay has in store for Avett and Quaid in the next book Charged, out May 24.

I won a copy early from the author and also purchased a copy of this book.

Notable Quotes

After everything the past has tried to bury us under, we owe it to ourselves to be brave, to do more than float

Everything was tied together with thin threads of fate, and when one loosened or tightened it was surprising how impactful it could be.

Tall, tatted and BUILT. Like a guy who hauled heavy stuff around and swung a hammer like Thor should be. Zeb was impressive to say the least.

I choose you, Sayer. Lover, lawyer, and all the shit you are in between that, I choose it. I choose us. When you’re ready to accept that, you come find me.

The truck is a her?….Sure. She’s classy, elegant, made of study stuff, expensive as hell to keep running and keep pretty. She’s only good to me if I’m good to her, so obviously she’s a girl.

The truth is that I like the woman you are with me and I like the woman you are in court. I like the woman you are with your brother and they way you fought to be his family. I like the woman I first met at the Bar that didn’t judge me when I told her I had been to prison. I like the woman that lets a scared young woman use her house as a sanctuary…

My Review

5 Stars

I think I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up and its Shannon Walsh. I loved this story and everything about it from the first word. Two alphas make things so much more interesting and this story did not hold anything back.

My Thoughts

This is the fourth book in the series and features the second eldest in the family, Shannon. Shannon is the no-nonsense, take no prisoners, brass balled “Cornerstone” of the Walsh family. She has taken it upon herself to care for her siblings, runs their business, and pretty much their lives, working her ass off to do whatever she can to make life easier for them all. She can come off as an overbearing bitch, or a man-eating shrew, but it was really nice to get to see all of the reasons and thoughts to her actions and behaviors. She has every situation and every body under control…..

Until she meets Will Halstead. Will is as alpha as the come. Leader of a bad-ass squad of Navy SEALs, he is used to being the one in charge and ordering everyone around. He meets Shannon and they have a battle of wills as to who is in charge. The banter between these two in their battle for control was amazing.

As their relationship progresses he becomes so much more that the big bad alpha soldier and it was a funny, sweet, swoony, and beautiful transition. He is able to become the calm in the storm for Shannon and that is not an easy task, luckily he never gives up and is the right man for the job. I really enjoyed Will in this book. He was so demanding, but also so sweet, gentle and caring that it made me want a Will to take care of me too.

Shannon seemed so overbearing in the last novels and I was worried that she would be labeled as one of those females that we love to hate, but Mrs. Canterbary’s writing was so beautiful it redeemed Shannon and made her one of my all time favorite female characters. It is so hard to straddle that line of strong female characters with readers and not have them come off as annoying or abrasive or fake, but it works so well in this book I never had an inkling of those feelings. Just the opposite in fact, I fell hard for Shannon and Will and they have become one of the best book relationships out there.

This book is one of my favorites of 2015 and everyone should read this book and take lessons from Kate Canterbary. This is how to write a strong, beautiful female character. These characters will stay with you long after the book is finished and make you want to befriend this crazy bunch. I look forward to the next chapter of the Walsh series, and know that it will not disappoint.

Necessary Restorations by Kate Canterbary – REVIEW and Giveaway

Necessary Restorations by Kate Canterbary

Synopsis

They liked to call me names. Manwhore. Slut. Player. But I make wrong look so right…

He’s a flawed perfectionist…
I can read women better than any blueprint. I understand their thoughts and feelings, their secret desires and insecurities, and I know how to get rid of them once I get off.

But all bets are off when Tiel Desai slams into my life. She redefines what it means to be friends, and she makes it sound like the filthiest thing I’ve ever heard.

I can’t read the gorgeous conservatory-trained violinist, but she’s the only one keeping me from shattering by small degrees, and I can’t let her go.

She’s wildly independent…
My past—and New Jersey—are far behind me, and now my life is blissfully full of music: playing, teaching, and lecturing, and scouring Boston’s underground scene with an annoyingly beautiful, troubled, tattooed architect.

I’m defenseless against his rooftop kisses, our nearly naked dance parties, the snuggletimes that turn into sexytimes, and his deep, demanding voice.

I have Sam Walsh stuck in my head like a song on repeat, and I’m happy pretending history won’t catch up with me.

The one thing they have in common is a rock-solid disregard for the rules.
They find more in each other than they ever realized they were missing, but they might have to fall apart before they can come together.

It’s the wrongs that make the rights come to life.

My Review

5 Stars

Oh Sam… I loved this book and everything about it. A beautiful story of a broken man who finds the woman that can help put him back together again.

My Thoughts

We start this book with Sam being a complete ass and manwhore, and no real insight into what has caused him to be like this. As we get more into the story he starts to open up a little more and we learn more and more about Sam and the Walshs’ past. It was so heartbreaking to relive some of Sam’s past and his encounters with their father, but you can see how it caused him to stay away from people other than his siblings. That was one of my favorite things about this book, you could see why people acted and did what they did and it made it more real.

Tiel was as opposite of Sam as you possibly could be. She was an open free-spirited musician that also had some demons in her past. She meets Sam and they forge a tenuous friendship where she slowly brought him out of his shell and their connection solidified. I loved the way that they started to get closer and closer and had no idea how to move forward. The wonderful slow burn in this book was so perfect for Sam and Tiel and I couldn’t have imagined it another way.

I loved how he wanted to make himself better once he met Tiel, but he decided to change for himself and not for the girl. I cannot tell you how amazing it was to see someone be themselves and evolving into a better version of themselves based on a catalyst and not “for” another person. Neither character is a trope and that in itself is a refreshing change on books of this genre. Overall it is a fresh, fun, sexy book with an incredible amount of heart and passion. One I highly suggest picking up.

Notable Quotes

“Ah, Samuel? Eyes up here, please.”
I dragged my gaze from her breasts to her lips, and lifted my brows. “Yeah, you’re not my type, but you have an incredible rack, and I’d like having those lips on my dick.”
It sounded like my usual bullshit, but it was possibly the most honest, unfiltered thing I’d said all day.
She snorted, spraying vodka from her mouth and nose, and shook her head. “You need to shut that shit down. I’m not giving you a blowjob. Stop thinking about it.”

I couldn’t tell her that being with her made me feel sane for the first time in months.
Or that I felt rusty, broken pieces of myself healing every time I kissed her.
Or that she was beautiful and genuine in ways that stunned me.
Or that I wanted to bury myself in her for days, but I needed her more than I needed pussy.

How much longer do you think we can do this?” he asked.
“I don’t think anyone else is coming up here, so…”
“No.” His lips passed over my cheek and temple, stopping there while his hand slipped under my dress. “How much longer can we pretend this is enough?

Life is too short to waste on things that aren’t important enough to be real.

I love you and there is no one in the universe I’ll ever want but you. I’ve been yours since always, and always will be.

Tiel loves everything. Everything. She loves music and food and people, and I’m not sure I love anything.

Sex isn’t about skill. It’s passion, and you can’t fake that…I know some musicians who can shred every single piece of music put in front of them, but they have no passion for the sound and you can hear it. It’s technically perfect, but it’s so fucking soulless that you never want to listen to that piece ever again…

Most people think passion lives in some thundering monster, a primordial entity that call all the shots from deep inside your brain, but it’s not.,” she said, growing animated. “It’s details. It’s the way itsy bitsy sounds bend around each other and create magic. It’s pressing your mouth to someone’s neck because you can’t imagine living another minute without feeling her skin on your lips. Fingertips digging into her hips until they bruise. Reaching for someone in the night. Knowing her taste in your soul but never feeling fulfilled. Awakening all the beasts you’ve kept hidden inside, and letting them grow and breathe because she wants to know them. That’s passion.

I stared at her, convinced I was observing something filthy and exquisite, and I couldn’t find a single thing to say.

I loved her, fully and completely, and she brought out the best version of me
