Bad JUD Cover FrontHe’s so arrogant.

She’s so self-righteous.

I can’t stand him.

I want her.

He’s a distraction I don’t need.

She’ll say yes eventually because I’m not giving up.

Justine Porter is stuck between a rock and a stripper pole. She lost her law school scholarship, which means she has two choices to keep her life on track: strip for her tuition or tutor the most distractingly sexy guy in her class—the one she’s been turning down for two years straight. It should be an easy choice, but tutoring Ryker Grant could derail her plans to graduate with honors faster than two-for-one night at the Déjà Vu. Then again, topless has never really been her color.

She could take the easy road, just this once . . . but the deal has enough loopholes to trip anyone up.

Who knew they taught bad judgment in law school?

Excerpt

“Excuse me, Ms. Porter. Mr. Grant. Is there something you’d like to share with the class?”

And we’ve officially been noticed by Turner. Justine’s cheeks turn red at the professor’s attention.

“Sorry, Professor Turner. I’ve been asking Ms. Porter out at least once a week for the last two years, and she’s still shooting me down. You’d think I’d give up, but I just can’t let it go.”

Justine’s face and ears flame even brighter red, and she slaps a hand over her face and lowers her gaze to the keyboard of her laptop.

“And do you think that announcing this is going to help your case any, Mr. Grant?”

“No, sir, but you asked if I had anything to share with the class.”

The middle-aged man seems like he would have been cool in his day, and I know it’s true when he doesn’t bust my balls any further.

“Fair enough, Mr. Grant, but save it for after class. I imagine you’re going to have a lot of apologizing to do, and perhaps some groveling.”

“Thank you, sir.”

Turner moves on to call on the next person on his list to recite the facts of the case, and I’m glad he didn’t bestow that little honor on me.

Justine grabs the Chewbacca Pez dispenser between us and pops a few yellow candies into her mouth. Her face is still bright red, and Turner’s right. I should probably apologize for humiliating her, but it’s not like anyone in this room doesn’t know I’ve been trying since the beginning of our first year. She’s the only one who pretends like it’s not happening—at least until that night after finals at the bar.

I haven’t been able to get the way her body curled into mine out of my head. I need to remind her how fucking good we could be together. If that kiss was anything to go by, when we get naked, we’ll be explosive.

One more chance. That’s all I need to convince her that we have a hell of a lot more to explore.

Class grinds on for what seems like an eternity until Turner dismisses us and everyone starts packing up their laptops and casebooks.

I know I’ve got one shot to get Justine to agree to talk to me—especially after I made my little announcement to the class.

Biding my time, I wait until she’s trying to pass behind me, and I stand so she runs directly into my chest. Thrown off-balance, she wobbles, and I wrap both hands around her hips to steady her.

“I got you.”

Her eyes narrow and her mouth curls into a scowl. “You did that on purpose.”

“Deliberately got in your way so I could get my hands on you again? Damn right, I did.”

I see a flash of confusion and then the anger takes precedence again.

But we both know it’s the truth. Getting my hands on her is exactly what I want. Her shirt rides up on the sides, and I sweep my fingers along her bare skin. Fuck, she’s soft. Which guarantees my dick isn’t.

“Let me go.”

Instead of a demand, Justine’s words sound breathless. I have to remind myself I’m standing in a classroom with a professor up front and students filing in and out. This isn’t the time or place for a hard-on.

“I’ve got some things I need to say to you, and you’re going to let me.”

Her brown eyes snap up to mine, surprise clear in them. “Why should I?”

“Because you’re nothing if not curious, and you want to know what I have to say.”

She steps backward, and I let my fingertips trail across her skin before they drop away. Justine adjusts the straps of her backpack on her shoulders and tucks Chewbacca into a side pocket.

“You know you want to hear the rare sound of me apologizing, don’t you?”

Justine purses her lips, and all I can think about is the dreams I had all weekend of her staring down at me from a stage while she danced and stripped. My own private show. I’m not going to admit how many times I jacked off to the mental picture. I need the real thing, and I won’t have another shot if she won’t even give me a chance to talk to her.

I don’t know what changes her mind, but she relaxes her posture and relents. “Fine. You’ve got five minutes. This better be good.”

Crash by Stacey Brandon and Karen Bell – REVIEW

Title

Synopsis28206934

Charli has a plan for her life. It does not include the hot guy at table four. This is the first time she’s seen him at The Crash, the bar where she works most evenings. From the moment he arrives with his power suit, condescending friends, and unnerving stare, he’s hijacked her thoughts. It doesn’t help that he keeps finding ways to insinuate himself into her life.

Logan has a plan for his life. It does not include the quirky little waitress at the new bar his friends discovered. He has a lot of obligations and very little time. If he needs a female distraction once in awhile, she isn’t the type of woman he normally looks to. Despite all of this, she has become what he wants most of all.

Working to overcome all the things threatening to separate them won’t be easy. Can they find a way to meet in the middle if it holds the promise of happily ever after?

Review

4 Stars

This book was fantastic. So funny and fun to read. Highly recommend.

My Thoughts

Crash is the story of a cheeky waitress/author named Charli and her polar opposite – Logan, a lawyer. Their story is roll on the ground, get strange looks from your husband and dog, laugh out loud funny. The banter between Logan and Charli and all of their friends and acquaintances is so witty and perfect I found myself telling everyone to read this book. It is a short-ish, sweet, fun romantic comedy that doesn’t have a high angst factor or the campy quality that so many of other romantic comedies have these days. It was really refreshing to read the debut from Brandon and Bell. I am anxiously awaiting their next release. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Synopsis

Sometimes you have to tear everything down to build something new…

Sayer Cole is frozen inside. At least, that’s what it’s felt like for as long as she can remember. She’s yet to let anyone past her icy exterior – and the one guy she thinks might melt her heart couldn’t possibly be interested in someone so uptight.

Rough, hard and hot-as-hell, Zeb Fuller has rebuilt his life and his construction business since protecting his family sent him to jail all those years ago. His elegant client, Sayer, makes him feel like a Neanderthal in denim, but despite the many hints that he’s been dropping to get to know her better, she seems oblivious to his charms.

Just as things finally start to heat up, Zeb’s past comes back to haunt him and he needs Sayer’s professional help to right a wrong and to save more than himself. As these opposites dig in for the fight of their lives, fire and ice collide in an unstoppable explosion of steam…

Review

5 Stars

I don’t think anyone can top Captain No Fun as my favorite book boyfriend, but Mr. Fix-It came pretty damn close. This was an amazing story all around and is now one of my all time favorites. I cannot wait for the rest of this series.

My Thoughts

I am not going to lie… I was dying to get my hands on a copy of this book. I am a huge Jay Crownover fan girl and have read everything she has written. So when I got the chance to meet her in Chicago I was all over it, and even more exciting I scored a copy of this book early. I am so happy I did. This book was phenomenal. I highly recommend Jay’s other books, but this one is different because it has so much more heart, so much more swooning and just so much more. I wholeheartedly give this book all of the stars and want everyone to read it.

On to the book it’s self. When we first met Zeb and Sayer in Rowdy’s book I was intrigued by them both. I mean Zeb was a hot bearded construction worker with a heart of gold and some mistakes in his past, but you could instantly tell we were gonna see more of him when he was ready to fall. And Sayer was this quiet, reserved, fierce little thing that was fighting for a real relationship with a brother she didn’t even know existed not to long ago.

It is apparent from that first meeting in Rowdy’s book that they are circling each other, but getting to see that interaction from their points of view made me swoon a little. Zeb is an ex con and Sayer doesn’t treat him like that is all he is, which is a new and welcome experience for him. She sees him, the real him and not just the convict.

Sayer hires him to work on her house and they do a flirtation dance the entire time he is working, but it never goes any further. Sayer begins to miss him and his presence in her house and tracks him down to help her do some more work on her house. Their back and forth dance continues and is so sweet and full of sexual tension it is magnificent to be privy to.

Zeb gets some news and needs Sayer’s help in the courtroom. They start spending more time together for the case and the sparks fly. He is not going to let her brush him and his advances any longer and she soon succumbs to his charms. These two are super hot together and Jay writes some of the best steamy scenes, but Sayer has a hard time with them becoming something more. It is completely heartbreaking when Zeb has to leave her to let her work out her issues on her own and find her way back to him. This book had me in tears for them, and I never cry over books. The writing is just that powerful and beautiful.

Zeb is completely swoonworthy throughout the entire book. Whether he is talking dirty, being sweet, or somewhere in between he is one of my top book boyfriends. And Sayer is so complicated and beautiful both inside and out, that most of the time I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hug her or shake her to get her out of her own head. Together they make one of my favorite book couples ever.

Once I started reading this book I could not put it down until I was finished.I’m calling it now, this book will be in my top of 2016 list without a doubt. I can’t wait to see what Jay has in store for Avett and Quaid in the next book Charged, out May 24.

I won a copy early from the author and also purchased a copy of this book.

Notable Quotes

After everything the past has tried to bury us under, we owe it to ourselves to be brave, to do more than float

Everything was tied together with thin threads of fate, and when one loosened or tightened it was surprising how impactful it could be.

Tall, tatted and BUILT. Like a guy who hauled heavy stuff around and swung a hammer like Thor should be. Zeb was impressive to say the least.

I choose you, Sayer. Lover, lawyer, and all the shit you are in between that, I choose it. I choose us. When you’re ready to accept that, you come find me.

The truck is a her?….Sure. She’s classy, elegant, made of study stuff, expensive as hell to keep running and keep pretty. She’s only good to me if I’m good to her, so obviously she’s a girl.

The truth is that I like the woman you are with me and I like the woman you are in court. I like the woman you are with your brother and they way you fought to be his family. I like the woman I first met at the Bar that didn’t judge me when I told her I had been to prison. I like the woman that lets a scared young woman use her house as a sanctuary…

Big Rock by Lauren Blakely – REVIEW

Big Rock

SynopsisPageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]

It’s not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It’s definitely the SIZE of the boat too.

And I’ve got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big cock.

You might think I’m an asshole. I sound like one, don’t I? I’m hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.

Guess what? You haven’t heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind.

The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock.

And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.

But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.

What the fuck have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?

BIG ROCK is a standalone, dirty romance novel written from the guy’s POV by NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely…

Review

4 Stars

I went into this book unsure about Spencer and the male POV, but almost immediately I fell for Spencer. He was so much more that an egotistical arrogant ass that the synopsis made him out to be and he is what makes this story stand out in the end.

My Thoughts

The prologue almost had me putting this book down, but I am happy I kept reading. Right away we get to meet Charlotte. She is Spencer’s long time friend and business partner. They are really close but have never crossed that line and that is part of what makes this book so fun.

Early on we meet Spencer’s family and find out that in order for his dad to sell the family jewelry business he needs Spencer to tone down his manwhore ways. He takes this one step further and pretends that he is in a relationship with his best friend and then goes even further by pretending that they are getting married.

He springs this all on Charlotte, who takes it surprisingly well. She is dealing with a clingy ex that doesn’t take no for an answer and keeps trying to win her back. She uses Spencer to finally kick him to the curb. But once he kisses her to get the point across they can’t keep their hands off of each other. She revels in teasing him under the guise of making them more comfortable around each other to make their engagement more believable. He fights his attraction to Charlotte, until she turns the tables on him and suggests they become friends with benefits…

From here out the book is a fun surprise of sweet, sexy and steamy. As these two best friends realize that there may not be a way to go back to “normal” once some lines are crossed, we get to see several aspects of Spencer that make this book go from 3 stars to 4.5 stars. I am not a fan of male POV in past books, but Lauren Blakely has converted me. I highly recommend this Big Rock that packs a big punch and has it all.

Notable Quotes

Charlotte and I can both appreciate each other’s appearance. That’s one of the great hallmarks of our friendship. I can acknowledge she is a babe, and she can do the same with me, and we’re still good.

“Friends don’t let friends eat gummi bears alone. I’ll bring the bears.”
“I’ll eat the green ones for you.”
She shudders. “Hate the green ones.”

“Are you trying to seduce me?” I ask as I walk over to her.
“Yes,” she whispers, her voice feathery. “Is it working?”

I can handle this. I’m not tempted at all by my best friend. My dick, however, begs to differ, the traitorous prick.

My dick is f*cking awesome. But don’t just take my word for it. Consider all its accomplishments. First, let’s start with the obvious one. Size. Sure, some people will tell you that size does not matter. You know what I’ll tell you? They lie. You don’t want a tiny diamond on your finger when you can have three carats. You don’t ant a one- dollar bill when you can have a Benjamin. And you don’t want to ride a miniature pony when you can saddle up on a rock- star at the rodeo of your pleasure

She’s an angel that has come to sin with me

Any man who is friends with a woman has taken the old imagination out for a stroll to Kissing Avenue, then Lovers Lane, then Fucking Street.

What the fuck am I supposed to do with this erection? Hammer some nails? Bang some wood? This is like a punishment erection. It’s got it’s own blood supply.

Synopsis27974501

“I’ve been in New York four weeks. I’m behind on the spring line, days from homeless, and getting sued by the only person in the whole damn city who’s seen me naked.”

Ava Cameron has stars in her eyes. When the feisty designer moves to NYC after graduation with her best friend, things are finally clicking into place.

But now their brand new label, Travesty, is under attack.

The man leading the charge is the hottest hookup Ava ever had. One she never wanted to see again…

Nate Townsend might be from the right schools, the right neighborhood and the right family. But under the surface, his scars run deep.

When the society prince and the loud designer come face to face on a case that could decide Ava’s future, sparks fly.

Nate’s not about to let Ava forget she’s the only person who knows his secrets. And Ava’s walking the line between getting Travesty back on track and being dragged into the gutter by one stubborn young lawyer planning to take her down.

If Nate Townsend didn’t make the gutter look so damn good…

Review

4 Stars

The perfect balance between hot, funny and sweet. This book was so much fun to read.

My Thoughts

This is the second book in the Travesty series. In the first book we followed Lex, who was the financial “brains” behind the company. Lex hooks up with Ava’s brother Dylan and we get to see them make the transition in to a long distance relationship, but mostly this is an interconnected stand alone. The story picks up where the last book left off, but follows Ava Cameron, the loud, quirky, creative designer part of the Travesty team.

The girls have moved to New York to work on their clothing line. The book starts with Ava meeting a hot sexy, mysterious “suit” that she goes home with and never thinks about again. The girls get word that they are being sued for copyright infringement from another designer and have to meet with lawyers. Much to Ava’s surprise the “suit” she went home with is the lawyer in charge of the case against her.

The back and forth banter and the way that these two fight make this book so much fun. This is one of my favorite types of story… the couple that hate each other and end up together. Nate and Ava had such a strong connection that they could not stay away from each other and just kept finding themselves pulled back together again and again. This book was so funny, surprisingly sweet, super sexy and overall a really great read.

The way you guys argue? It’s like watching through a peephole in Amsterdam.

If we lose this lawsuit, could you guys make two hundred and fifty thousand dollars worth of porn?

Ava reminded me of the peonies that used to stubbornly grow in the middle of my mother’s rose garden. Beautiful and unapologetically unique.

That’s what my life feels like some days. Like I woke up in a strange place and don’t know how I got there.

So, are you ready for your MONSTER SCREW??

About Screwed:

I’m young, fit, attractive, and loaded. Not to mention I’m packing a sizable bulge below the belt. It’s a combination that drops panties on a regular basis.

Yay, me, right?

But my cock, troublemaker that he is, has been confined to my trousers by my business partner. A concession I agreed to, and one that’s never been hard to enforce until Emery moves in across the hall. She’s smart, young, determined, and sexy as hell. I want a taste. I won’t stop until I’m buried deep inside the succulent new-in-town brunette.

After being warned about my past, she does her best to steer clear, but I’m about to show her that underneath it all, I’m a guy with a heart of gold and a cock of steel.

My name is Hayden Oliver, and this is my story.

About Monster Prick:

Over my dead body.

That’s what I told Gracie when she informed me of her plan to pick some random guy she met online to get rid of her pesky virginity.

If anyone is touching her, it’s going to be me.

I shouldn’t even be considering it, but I can’t get it out of my head: her, under me, begging me.

***

Arrogant. Cocky. Prick.

Those are the words I’d use to describe my older brother’s dangerously handsome best friend.

When he learned of my plan to kick off my white cotton briefs, ditching my good girl persona once and for all by losing my virginity to the first eligible bachelor I could find, he flipped out. Said over his dead body.

He says if anyone’s going to do it, it’s going to be him.

I hate that I’m even considering his offer.

But I am … I sooo am.

Ever since he suggested it, all I can think about is his cocky smile on those full lips as  he’s driving in to me.

But if we cross that line … will I ever be able to go back?

MONSTER PRICK, a sexy romantic comedy, is a spin off novella from SCREWED, but can be read as a standalone, as it features a new couple.
