Langley Ford is the definition of serious. Going through life as a pararescue jumper, working solely around men, she’s had to go above and beyond to prove she’s their equal. In fact, she can’t recall the last time she allowed herself to truly relax or let her guard down.

Always the one others rely on to crack jokes, the one to liven things up, Lawson Briggs is a fun, easygoing guy who doesn’t take life too seriously. But witnessing so many of his friends falling in love, he begins to wonder what the fuss is about. Will he ever fall prey to that infamous “love bug”?

Langley is now out of the military and working at a security consulting firm. When she meets the tall, bearded teacher who has endless wisecracks and comments, a part of her wishes she could be like him, wishes she could remember how.

While Lawson might be the best person to teach her how to live life to the fullest, will Langley be the one who teaches him all about love?

Review

4.5-Stars

Oh Laws. I knew Lawson’s story would be hilarious and sweet, but this book was so much more than that. Each book in this series that comes out becomes my new favorite.

My Thoughts

This book can be read as a stand alone, but we got to see more of Lawson and Langley in the previous books, and I can tell you I was very excited to see Lawson get his HEA. Lawson is the group goofball. He makes everyone laugh and forget their issues. He is also the one of those people who will do anything for his friends. Langley Ford is a former Pararescue Jumper that is über serious because of many things that happened in her past and her time in the military.

I smiled the entire time I read this book. If Lawson wasn’t saying something hilarious, the other guys were being goofy, Foster and Noelle were bantering, or my favorite Lawson was being an amazing boyfriend and making Langley smile or laugh or open up. These two seemed polar opposites most of the series, but they fit so well together. I loved this book so hard. It had very little drama, a ton of laughs, a huge heart, and more nerdy humor than you could ever ask for. Highly recommend this book and this series, each book gets better and better. RC Boldt has quickly become on of my go to authors and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

About the Author

RC Boldt is the wife of Mr. Boldt, a retired Navy Chief, mother of Little Miss Boldt, and former teacher of many students. She currently lives on the coast of North Carolina but dreams of relocating to a tropical island. When she’s not writing, she can be found daydreaming of relocating to a tropical island, at the beach, going running with her family (and contemplating *gently* tossing her daughter out of the jogging stroller to reduce weight resistance), singing karaoke, harassing her husband or relaxing with a good book. And, let’s be honest. Most of those activities listed probably include wine or a good microbrew. Except for the running. In that case, the drinks come afterward. 🙂
