My name is Quinn Blackwood:

By day, I’m a billionaire CEO. Rich. Entitled.By night, I’m the exclusive porn star only known as Q.Why? Because I love women. If I believed in an almighty being, I’d thank him for creating them. They’re by far his most perfect creation… especially when I’m fucking one of them.

Oh, did I mention I’m an asshole? Fuck yeah. According to my shrink, I’m one twisted motherfucker. And that’s just the way I like it. Until she walks into my life…

My name is Elyse Gilbert, nicknamed ‘Lucky’ because according to my dad, I’m the unluckiest person alive, and I’ll die the same way I came into the world: naked, screaming, and dirt poor.

Yeah, my life is a twisted, seething mess. But that life changed the day I met HIM.He made me forget the cameras. He made me forget I was doing this for the money. He made me forget my shame. He made me forget everything. I was consumed by him. Only him.

But now my past has caught up with me.

Review

3.5 Stars

The synopsis of this book intrigued me from the first time I saw it. The story was so much more than that little blurb, and it turns out it did not prepare you for the intense, twisted, sexy, and intriguing story that followed. The sex scenes were change your panties hot and the dark and twisty sides made the story that much more interesting.

My Thoughts

From page 1 I was intrigued with Q and constantly trying to figure out what as happening. He was a total mystery to the reader and to Lucky. As the story progresses and we got inside his head a little more you start piece things together. Throughout the story he had these two warring personalities that both fought for dominance and wanted Lucky. I did not like how he was playing her between the two for so long, but overall for some reason I did not connect to Q or Quinn. He was a very intriguing character, but I found myself not liking the demanding and confusing personality swaps.

Lucky or Elly or Elyse was also hiding something. It was interesting to see her story play out, but at the same time sometimes it was a little confusing to have the story time jump back and forth. She also had dual personalities, but hers were more for her anonymity and protection than to keep Quinn guessing. It almost felt like she was cheating on one with the other, but they were the same person and it got frustrating to me that he was messing with her head that badly.

Overall this was a very intriguing, very fast paced, very steamy read that had me turning the page to see what was gonna happen next. I enjoyed the book, but it left me both a little overwhelmed and a little underwhelmed. There was so much going on throughout the book that I felt overwhelmed several times, and I was underwhelmed with the love story. For some reason their “love” did not click for me, it felt like a large dose of lust and a small dose of obsession instead. I recommend this book if you are looking for a twisty story that will take you on a suspenseful journey ending with two broken souls finding light in the darkness.
